Every household has it. That one television remote control with magical powers. It disappears precisely when India needs two runs off the last ball or when your wife’s favourite serial reaches the dramatic revelation.
You’ve searched under the cushions. Checked the fridge (don’t ask why). Even interrogated the poor dog with suspicious eyes. Nothing. And then, hours later, it reappears—quietly resting on the coffee table as if mocking you: “What’s the panic? I never left.”
Some say it’s gremlins. I think it’s the remote’s way of demanding respect. After all, in its tiny plastic frame lives the power to silence news debates and skip endless shampoo ads.
Next time it vanishes, don’t panic. Just pour yourself tea, lean back, and let the universe work its mysterious magic. The remote always comes home.
