In a quiet corner of her wardrobe sat a saree she never wore. A deep maroon silk, its golden borders still stiff from never being draped. It had been bought for “some special occasion” years ago—but no such occasion came.
One evening, with no guests, no festivals, she took it out. Draped it slowly, awkwardly. She walked to the mirror and smiled—not at the fabric, but at the woman who finally stopped waiting for life to give her a reason to feel beautiful.
Perhaps the real occasion was just… being alive.
So tonight, wear your special perfume. Use the fancy cup. Call that friend. Life’s most ordinary days often turn out to be extraordinary.
