There’s an old rocking chair in my veranda—its cane cracked slightly, its arms polished by decades of hands. It squeaks every time I lean back, but oh, how it knows to soothe a tired body.
This evening, I sank into it with a cup of tea. The chair took over the rest—rocking gently, lulling my thoughts. The chaos of the day melted, replaced by a soft breeze and the faint smell of rain on dust.
Maybe we all need such a chair—not always literal, but a space or habit that lets life slow down. A walk. A book. A quiet balcony.
Find yours tonight. Let it rock you gently back to yourself.
