Why is it that pens are never where you left them? One day they’re on the desk, the next they’ve joined the secret society of missing stationery. Borrowed, misplaced, or simply gone rogue—no one knows.

Every household has a drawer full of pen caps but no pens, or pens that write only until you hand them to someone else. It’s a puzzle so universal that it feels like a prank the universe is playing on us.

Perhaps pens don’t vanish at all. Maybe they’re conspiring, scribbling their own stories somewhere. Until then, we keep buying new ones, feeding the mystery with every refill.
