As the day ends, the mind often continues to move at the same pace. Thoughts remain active, shifting from one thing to another, carrying the day forward into the night.
This makes rest difficult.
There is value in slowing the mind before sleep.
Not by forcing it to stop, but by gently reducing its movement. Allow thoughts to come and go without holding onto them. Let the urgency of the day fade naturally.
You do not need to think through everything tonight.
What is important will return tomorrow with more clarity. What is unnecessary will fade if not held.
The mind settles when it is not constantly engaged.
A quiet pause, even for a few minutes, can change how the night feels. It creates space. It reduces weight. It prepares the body and mind for rest.
Do not carry the full speed of the day into the night.
Let it slow down.
A calmer mind leads to a deeper rest.
