What an Indian Courtyard Teaches About Togetherness

In many Indian homes, especially older ones, there is a courtyard at the center. It is not the largest space, nor the most decorated, but it carries life in a way that rooms often do not.
People gather there. Conversations happen without planning. Silence is shared without discomfort. It is a space where life unfolds naturally.
There is a lesson in that simplicity.
Togetherness does not always need occasion. It grows in ordinary moments—shared tea, casual talk, quiet presence. It does not demand perfection. It only needs openness.
In modern life, connection is often scheduled, delayed, or replaced by distance. We stay busy, yet feel separate.
The courtyard reminds us of something basic.
Human connection is not built through grand events alone. It is built through small, repeated moments of presence.
A few minutes of genuine conversation. A shared silence. A simple gathering without purpose.
These things may look small, but they carry depth.
Togetherness is not about being constantly connected. It is about being meaningfully present when you are.
And sometimes, all it takes is a simple space and a little time.
