The Crooked Picture Frame

There’s a picture frame in my hall that refuses to stay straight. I adjust it every morning. By evening, it’s tilted again—stubborn as an old uncle’s opinion.

Maybe that’s a lesson. Life’s never perfectly aligned. The secret isn’t in fixing it endlessly—but in smiling at its quirks.

So leave one frame crooked today. It’s charming.

The Postman’s Bag

I watched the postman today—his bag sagging with letters, parcels, bills, and postcards. How many secrets does he carry unknowingly?

Years ago, we waited for his knock with bated breath. A letter meant love, news, or a cousin’s wedding invite. Now, it’s mostly silent notifications on screens.

But tonight, I missed the weight of a handwritten envelope. Its slight perfume. The uneven scrawl of someone thinking of you.

Perhaps tomorrow, I’ll send one. And you?

The Biscuit Thief

A squirrel darted across my balcony today, tail flicking, eyes on my biscuit tin.

I waved. It froze. Then it shot away with a crumb in its mouth, a tiny victorious warrior.

Life is full of such little thefts—sunlight stealing into your room, laughter stealing your worries. Let them.

Start today ready to share your biscuits—with squirrels and with joy.

The Neighbour’s Balcony Light

Date: 15/07/2025

Every night, her balcony light comes on at 8 pm sharp. From my chair, I see her watering tulsi, humming an old Hindi tune.

I don’t know her name. We’ve never spoken. Yet, her small routine soothes me.

Sometimes, it’s these quiet strangers who remind us the world still turns gently, despite the noise.

Tonight, light a lamp. Be someone’s unseen calm in the dark.

Ode to the Lost Pen

Pens have a secret talent for vanishing when we need them most. Yet, they reappear in trouser pockets or under sofa cushions, smirking like naughty children.

Today, let’s forgive the lost pen. Maybe it teaches us this: not everything missing is gone forever.

Begin your day with a fresh page—pen or no pen.

The Half-Finished Painting

@ All rights reserved by the author

Date: 14/07/2025

In his upper room, an old man stared at a canvas he began years ago—a boat adrift on a stormy sea. For decades, he never returned to it.

This evening, he picked up a brush and painted a calm blue sky above it. The storm was over.

Maybe that’s what life is about—coming back to old stories, old scars, and finishing them differently. Tonight, revisit something you left incomplete. A book. A call. A dream. Add a calm sky above it.

The Missing Socks Mystery

@ All rights reserved by the author

Date: 13/07/2025

Somewhere in every home lives a secret society of single socks. They vanish quietly, leaving their partners mourning in drawers.

Tonight, I found yet another lonely sock staring at me accusingly. It made me laugh. Maybe life, too, is like that drawer—full of little mismatches and absences we can’t explain.

So instead of sulking over what’s missing, I paired it with another lonely sock. Odd? Maybe. But comfortable.

Perhaps happiness is just this—accepting mismatches with a grin.

The Tea That Smiled

Date: 13/07/2025

This morning, my tea smiled at me. Not literally, of course—but there was something about that first sip. Warm, earthy, calming. A reminder that happiness often hides in simple rituals.

We keep chasing big things—awards, likes, applause—when all along, the universe hides joy in a steaming cup.

So today, take your tea (or coffee) slowly. Let it remind you: life’s sweetest moments are rarely loud.
