With the melody complete, Arun felt a sense of closure—not just for his grandfather, but for himself as well. He realised that he no longer wanted to return to his old life of monotony. Music had rekindled a fire within him, and he was determined to keep it alive.

Arun decided to stay in Chandanpur and open a small music school in his grandfather’s memory. He wanted to share the joy of music with others, to help them find the connection that he had rediscovered. The school quickly became a hub of creativity, attracting students from all walks of life.

As the years passed, Arun’s music school grew, and so did his reputation as a musician. But more importantly, he found a sense of fulfilment that he had never experienced before. He had found his true calling, and in doing so, he had found himself.

The story of Arun’s journey spread far and wide, inspiring others to rediscover their passions and reconnect with their roots. The completed melody, “The Melody of Life,” became a symbol of hope and healing—a reminder that it’s never too late to find your true path.

Arun’s story touched the hearts of many, both in India and around the world. It resonated with those who had lost their way, reminding them of the importance of following their passions and staying true to themselves. The blend of Indian classical music and universal themes of love, loss, and self-discovery made the story relatable to readers everywhere.

A Journey to Kaziranga National Park

Henry and Margaret had always dreamt of an adventure. Married for over forty years, the couple had traversed much of Europe and America, but their wanderlust led them to a desire for something more exotic. So, when they stumbled upon an article about Kaziranga National Park in Assam, India—home to the renowned one-horned rhinoceros and the majestic Royal Bengal tiger—they knew it was the next destination on their list.

They arrived in Assam in early November, eager to explore the vast and vibrant landscape that promised to be unlike anything they had ever seen. The air was crisp and cool, a pleasant contrast to the oppressive summer heat they had left behind. Their journey to Kaziranga National Park started with a drive from the state’s capital, Guwahati. As they travelled, they were greeted by a kaleidoscope of lush green tea gardens, mist-covered hills, and vibrant local markets.

Upon reaching the park, Henry and Margaret were awestruck by the sheer beauty of Kaziranga. Spanning approximately 430 square kilometres, the park boasted a diverse array of flora and fauna. Tall elephant grass swayed gently in the breeze, and the air was filled with the melodic calls of exotic birds. The couple checked into a quaint eco-lodge that blended seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The wooden cabins, set amidst verdant gardens, provided a rustic yet comfortable retreat.

That evening, as they sat on their porch sipping Assamese tea, the distant roar of the Brahmaputra River was a constant reminder of nature’s omnipresence. Their host, Mr. Dutta, a knowledgeable and passionate conservationist, briefed them about the park’s ecosystem and the challenges it faced, especially during the monsoon season when the river swelled and inundated large parts of the park.

The following morning, Henry and Margaret embarked on their first safari. Their guide, Rajiv, was a young and enthusiastic naturalist with a deep love for the park. They set off in an open jeep just as the sun began to rise, casting a golden hue over the landscape to the elephant riding point. Rajiv dropped them there and both of them took the Elephant ride to visit the park. The Mahut ( the elephant handler) can speak good English as he used to take foreign tourists for the safari. They started the tour and the mahut goes on explaining. Margaret asked him one question after another.

The couple’s first encounter with wildlife came in the form of a herd of elephants. Henry marvelled at their sheer size and grace as they moved through the tall grass. Margaret, an avid photographer, clicked away, capturing the gentle giants against the backdrop of the misty dawn.

As they drove deeper into the park, Rajiv pointed out various species of birds, including the Great Hornbill and the Crested Serpent Eagle. But the highlight of the morning was their sighting of a one-horned rhinoceros. The massive creature grazed calmly by a waterhole, its armoured body glistening in the sunlight. Henry and Margaret watched in silent awe, appreciating the tranquillity of the moment. They soon saw a lot of barking deer buffaloes and wild pigs. The mahout told them that the wild pig is a dangerous animal and to keep their distance from them

The couple’s quest to see the Royal Bengal tiger, however, proved to be more elusive. The Mahut explained that tigers were solitary and territorial creatures, often hard to spot due to their nocturnal habits and the dense foliage of the park. Undeterred, Henry and Margaret signed up for an evening jeep safari, hoping that dusk would bring them better luck.( TO BE CONTINUED)

Life In An Apartment( Part II)

In the vibrant lifestyle of Happy Villa residents, where echoes of the past intertwined with the present, a quirky tradition emerged that became a source of joy and unity among the residents—a ceremony known as the ” Happy Villa Vibes.” This unique idea was brought by a few of the residents led by Ayeasa, the new entrant to the Happy Villa to bring together the diverse community with an element of surprise. The Management committee welcome the new idea.

The rooftop terrace has been converted for this purpose to serve as a cultural hub for this purpose. Ayesha, the beautiful lady who recently shifted to the Happy Villa-occupied apartment on rent has been given the responsibility of implementing the proposed idea of “Happy Villa Vibes” for celebrating, entertaining and developing community feeling- amongst the residents of Happy Villa. A yearly event where residents share their most memorable and quirky stories. The goal was to create a collective narrative that celebrated the individual quirks and unique experiences that made Happy Villa a one-of-a-kind community. For children, some indoor and outdoor games with symbolic prizes were proposed to encourage them. Mr Grover, the Managing committee head encouraged everyone and was very supportive.

The idea gained enthusiastic support from the residents. Mrs Sarma, another newly joined resident with her wealth of stories and anecdotes, became the honorary storyteller, sharing tales of her early days. Amelia, the comedian, couldn’t resist the opportunity to add her comedic touch to the event. James, always up for a technological challenge, proposed live-streaming the event for residents who couldn’t attend in person.

As the day of the first Happy Villa Vibes approached, excitement buzzed through the building. Residents prepared their stories, ranging from heartwarming to downright hilarious. The rooftop terrace transformed , adorned with fairy lights, colourful cushions, and a makeshift stage. Some musical arrangement between the stories makes it more enjoyable and all residents get involved.

The event kicked off with a classical dance performance by Nandini,  granddaughter of Mrs Saikia, paying homage to the building’s rich diversity. Mrs Sharma, with her knack for storytelling, regaled the audience with tales of the mischievous pranks played by the building’s residents and also during her young age.

Amelia, the resident comedian, took the stage next, turning her quirky experiences into a stand-up routine that had the audience in stitches. She recounted the time her attempt at cooking turned into a kitchen disaster, with smoke alarms blaring and neighbours rushing to her aid.

James, the tech enthusiast, embraced the spotlight to share a technological mishap involving a voice-activated virtual assistant that had the entire building bursting into laughter. His willingness to laugh at himself endeared him to the community even more.

Ayesha, as the organizer, with a beautiful white and pink dress with her open long silky hair, took the stage last. She shared the story of discovering an antique diary with a beautiful love story of one Arjun and Anamika and the audience remained spellbound by her magical way of keeping the audience’s anticipation until she finished. Her narrative resonated with the audience, with her lovely way of speaking her tells as they saw their journeys reflected in her quest for connection and meaning within Happy Villa  Apartments.

The Happy Villa Vibes became an annual tradition, eagerly anticipated by residents of all ages. Each year, the stories grew more colourful and diverse, weaving a beautiful canvas of shared experiences that bound the community together. The event extended beyond the rooftop terrace, with residents organizing themed potlucks, talent shows, and collaborative art projects inspired by the stories shared during the Vibes. The initial programme was in later years extended to two evenings as more and more residents showed their interest and participated.

One year, the event took an unexpected turn when a mysterious “Magic Box” appeared in the community area. Residents were encouraged to submit their quirky stories, confessions, and aspirations anonymously. The magic Box became an opening for confessionals, fostering an environment of openness and shared vulnerability.

The Magic Box expanded to include collaborative projects inspired by the Magic Box submissions. Mrs. Patel, the gardening enthusiast, initiated a community mural that captured the essence of the submitted stories. James, leveraging his tech skills, created an interactive platform where residents could anonymously contribute their quirky anecdotes year-round.

The quirky tradition brought laughter and connection and catalyzed positive change among Happy Villa residents. Residents discovered shared passions, unexpected talents, and a profound appreciation for the uniqueness of each individual. Everybody feels the other resident is a part of their extended family.

As years passed, the Happy Villa Vibes became more than just an event—it became a living example of the resilience, diversity, and spirit of the building’s community. It also helps community participation in the management as a direction can be evolved on critical and improvement proposals which could be discussed informally in these gatherings.

With all the major festivals and now the Happy Villa Vibes bought a lovely atmosphere in the Villa and all residents feel proud to be a part of this vibrant society.

********************************************************

Happy Villa, though teeming with cultural diversity and camaraderie, and having a Lively environment, has been affected by entry of some disturbing elements to the society. A unified society gradually felt the eclipse but remained as a spectator watching how it went.

In the heart of the tranquil Villa, where happiness and unity once thrived among the residents, a sudden disturbance unfolded with the arrival of a few new members. These newcomers disrupted the peace by causing chaos and spreading nonsensical messages in the official group, creating a wave of unease among the community.

Despite the palpable tension, the existing residents chose to remain onlookers, silently observing the unfolding drama remaining away from the official group communication also in fear of personal attack However, amidst this turmoil, Mr Grover, a distinguished gentleman known for his calm demeanor, could not tolerate the escalating issues. He took charge and called for a managing committee meeting to address the problems plaguing their once-harmonious community.

As the meeting unfolded, chaos ensued, fueled by personal attacks on Mr Grover by the disruptive residents. The silence of the others spoke volumes, and amid the turmoil, Mr Grover made a difficult decision – he resigned from his role in the managing committee, unable to bear the onslaught of personal attacks.

The departure of Mr. Grover marked a turning point. The disruptive individuals, taking advantage of the situation, seized control of the managing committee. Those who had supported Mr Grover left the meeting in solidarity, leaving the door open for the troublemakers to appoint their allies to key positions within the committee.

The once-vibrant environment of the Villa underwent a drastic transformation. Fear of criticism and reprisals compelled the remaining residents to distance themselves from day-to-day happenings. The community that had once flourished with camaraderie now found itself in the grip of uncertainty and disarray. Various groups were unofficially formed and the residents became part of different groups.

Amidst this turmoil, a few concerned residents began to reflect on the values that had initially brought them together. A sense of nostalgia for the days of unity and happiness motivated them to take action. Together, they organized a gathering to discuss the current state of affairs and explore ways to reclaim the harmony that had been lost.

During the meeting, especially the senior residents shared their grievances and concerns, realizing the importance of solidarity in maintaining the well-being of the community as a whole. Inspired by a shared desire for positive change, a group emerged to challenge the status quo and reclaim the vibrant atmosphere that once defined their Villa.

This group, led by individuals who had experienced the positive impact of Mr. Grover’s leadership, sought to reinstate the principles of fairness, cooperation, and open communication within the community. Recognizing the need for a united front, they reached out to fellow residents who had distanced themselves, urging them to join the cause for the greater good.

As the movement gained momentum, more residents rallied behind the call for change. The once-silent majority found their voices, expressing a collective determination to restore the Villa to its former glory. Together, they organized peaceful posting of their views on the official group communication of the community-building proposal, and open forums to foster dialogue and understanding among all residents. The residents started protesting in unison if any objectionable comments were made by those who created chaos.

The renewed sense of community spirit began to have a positive impact, gradually weakening the influence of the disruptive individuals who had taken control of the managing committee. Residents who had initially been swayed by the chaos started to see through the facade and recognized the importance of returning to a harmonious coexistence.

In a surprising twist, some of the troublemakers themselves, feeling the positive energy and unity growing within the community, began to question their disruptive actions. Realizing the error of their ways, they approached the organizing group, expressing remorse and a desire to contribute positively to the community.

With a spirit of forgiveness and inclusivity, the community embraced those who sought redemption, recognizing that everyone had the potential for growth and change. Slowly but steadily, the Villa began to heal, and the managing committee transformed, with new members elected based on merit and a commitment to the well-being of the community.

The journey to reclaim harmony in the Villa was not without challenges, but the resilience and collective efforts of the residents triumphed over discord. The once-vibrant environment was restored, and the lessons learned from this tumultuous period served as a reminder of the importance of unity, communication, and the shared values that bound them together.

As the sun set over the Villa, casting a warm glow on the rejuvenated community, residents gathered for a celebration of their shared triumph. The challenges they had faced had strengthened their bonds, and the Villa once again resonated with the laughter and joy of a united and harmonious community, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

LIFE IN AN APARTMENT (PART -I)

In the heart of the crowded and busy city, lying close between the towering skyscrapers, stood the  Apartments Happy Villa—a manifestation of urban life teeming with diverse cultures, characters and stories waiting to unfold.

At the epicentre of this vibrant community was Mrs. Saikia, an elderly woman with a penchant for gardening. Her small balcony, a riot of colours with blooming flowers, became a serene oasis for her seeking solace from the daily grind. Yet, unknown to all, Mrs Saikia nurses a secret passion for salsa dancing, a skill she acquired during her youth in Cuba.

On the opposite end of the spectrum lived Jogesh Patel, an ambitious young entrepreneur always glued to his laptop. His relentless pursuit of success left little room for socializing, until the day he discovered the ‘Happy Villa’ was having a  group chat where neighbours shared tales of intrigue and uncovered the hidden talents of the apartment complex.

Amelia, an aspiring comedian on the fourth floor, brought laughter to Happy Villa with her quirky sense of humour. Her stand-up routines at the monthly community gatherings were a hit, drawing both applause and a fair share of eye-rolls. Little did everyone know, she was nursing a dream of becoming a serious playwright, hidden behind her comedic façade.

The enigmatic musician, James, resided on the second floor. Always clad in black, he spent his days strumming haunting melodies on his guitar. Rumours swirled about his past life as a detective, a story he neither confirmed nor denied. Residents wondered if his melancholic tunes held clues to mysteries within the very walls they shared.

As the seasons changed, so did the dynamics of Happy Villa. One day, an unexplained power outage plunged the apartment complex into darkness without having the backup power installed till then as construction work was still going on. In the ensuing chaos, secrets were inadvertently revealed in the lawn over the moonlit. Mrs Saikia’s hidden salsa skills dazzled everyone, Jogesh discovered the joys of connecting face-to-face with the residents which he always avoids, and James’s music became a source of comfort for anxious neighbours.

Amelia, seizing the opportunity, organized an impromptu comedy show under the moonlight, turning a potential disaster into a night of laughter and companionship. The Happy Villa group chat buzzed with activity as residents shared their unexpected experiences during the blackout, creating a bond that transcended the mundane.

As the community began to thrive, a series of get-togethers and community activities were initiated by the new president of the society. Mr Grover, an aged and renowned lawyer, would test the strength of the resident’s newfound connections. The atmosphere shifted from lighthearted to entertaining, as residents gradually started to know each other.

The Happy Villa stood on its diverse characters overcoming the challenges that would reshape their lives. The once mundane apartment complex transformed into a stage where humour, drama, seriousness, unanticipated events, and thrilling mysteries unfolded in harmony, proving that within the confines of everyday life, extraordinary stories were waiting to be written.

One day, as the community shared a meal in Mr. Nguyen’s apartment, the discussion turned to the upcoming festival of lights. Each resident recounted their cultural traditions, giving rise to a spirited exchange of stories and customs.

Amelia, the comedian, shared her family’s quirky Thanksgiving rituals, marked by humorous skits and unconventional recipes. Mrs Saikia reminisced about the vibrant Diwali celebrations of her youth in her home town, weaving tales of colourful rangoli and the warmth of family gatherings.

Jamil, amidst the diverse narratives, felt a twinge of nostalgia for the small Midwestern town he had left behind. As a newcomer to the city, he embraced the opportunity to learn about the cultural nuances that defined Happy Villa.

The festival of lights arrived, and Happy Villa transformed into a big canvas of traditions. Mrs Saikia adorned her balcony with flickering diyas, and also by all the residents while James improvised with strings of fairy lights, attempting to infuse a touch of his Midwestern charm. Mr Phukan, another resident, in his quiet way, contributed to the ambience with soulful melodies that echoed through the corridors.

Amid the festivities, a new mystery unfolded. An ancient artefact, seemingly out of place, appeared in the community area. Mrs Saikia recognized it as a cherished symbol from her Cuban roots, while Mr Nguyen identified it as a traditional Vietnamese talisman. The artefact, with its intricate carvings and mysterious energy, became a focal point of debate.

The diverse characters, united by their curiosity, embarked on a journey to uncover the origins of the artefact. Amelia, armed with her wit, suggested a collaborative performance that would incorporate elements from each resident’s cultural background. The festival of lights, initially a display of individual traditions, evolved into a community celebration that transcended borders.

As rehearsals for the multicultural performance unfolded, Happy Villa witnessed a beautiful collision of cultures. Jogesh, usually immersed in his technological world, found himself captivated by the rhythmic beats of traditional dances. Mr Phukan, the brooding singer, discovered inspiration in the harmonies of diverse melodies.

Amid this cultural exchange, Happy Villa also faced moments of misunderstanding and tension. Differences in communication styles and social norms surfaced, challenging the residents to navigate the delicate balance between embracing diversity and respecting individual boundaries.

Mrs. Saikia, with her innate wisdom, played the role of a cultural mediator, fostering open dialogue among the residents. She organized a “Cultural Exchange Fair” where each resident showcased aspects of their heritage—culinary delights, traditional attire, and personal anecdotes. The fair became a platform for mutual understanding, breaking down stereotypes and fostering a sense of unity.

Yet, the artefact remained a mystery. As the residents delved deeper into their cultural histories, they discovered surprising connections that spanned continents. The artefact, it seemed, held the key to unlocking a shared heritage that transcended the boundaries of nationality and ethnicity.

The multicultural performance, now infused with newfound cultural insights, became a powerful evidence of the strength of unity in diversity. Residents shared stories of migration, resilience, and the universal quest for belonging, creating a narrative that resonated with the collective heartbeat of Happy Villa.

Finally, during the culminating act of the performance, the artefact’s true significance was revealed. It represented a symbol of unity, a tangible reminder that despite their diverse backgrounds, the residents of Happy Villa were interconnected by a shared humanity.

As the festival of lights concluded, Happy Villa emerged not only as a home for individuals from different corners of the country but also as a community that celebrated and embraced the richness of cultural diversity. The artefact, once a mystery, now stood proudly in the community area—as a symbol of the bonds forged through shared experiences, understanding, and the collective journey of Happy Villa’s unique residents.

Soon all the units of the Happy Villa were occupied by the owners or tenants. The atmosphere changed to a big family of diverse populations from different parts of the country with cultural diversities and ethnicities.
