A Quiet Return to Safety

A bird returned to the same branch just before nightfall.
It had been moving all day—searching, flying, adjusting to the changing light. But as the evening settled, it came back to a familiar place.
No hesitation. No confusion.
Just a quiet return.
There is something deeply reassuring in that instinct.
After a long day, the need is not always for more activity, more thinking, or more movement.
Sometimes, it is simply for a place—physical or mental—where you can settle without effort.
A sense of safety. A sense of pause.
In our own lives, we often carry the day forward, even when it has ended. Thoughts continue, concerns remain, rest becomes delayed.
But like the bird, there is value in returning.
To something familiar. To something calm. To a space where nothing more is required.
Tonight, allow yourself that return.
Not everything needs to be carried into tomorrow.
Some things can be left behind, gently, as the day closes.
And in that quiet settling, rest begins.
