A dog sat near a roadside stall long after the activity had ended.
The crowd had gone. The lights were dim. Nothing more was happening.
Yet, it stayed.
Not expecting anything.
Not waiting for something specific.
Just remaining there, as if the place itself was enough.
After some time, someone passing by noticed, paused, and placed a little food nearby.
The dog looked up briefly, then ate quietly.
No excitement. No sudden change.
Just a small moment, received and accepted.
There is something steady in that kind of staying.
Not everything we do needs immediate response.
Some moments are quiet. Some spaces feel empty.
But staying through them has its own value.
Tonight, there is something simple to take.
Not every moment will give something back immediately.
But if you remain present, sometimes something small finds its way to you.
And sometimes, that is enough.
