The Cat Sat Beneath the Streetlight

Late at night, beneath a quiet streetlight near an empty road, a cat sat completely still watching the falling insects move through the light.
The city had almost gone silent.
Only distant traffic and the soft hum of electricity remained.
Yet the cat seemed fully absorbed in that small glowing circle beneath the lamp.
There was something strangely peaceful about the scene.
Not because anything important was happening.
But because the moment existed without hurry.
Animals often live inside the present more naturally than people do.
They do not constantly pull yesterday forward or push tomorrow into every quiet evening.
Perhaps that is why watching them sometimes calms the human mind.
They remind us of a simpler rhythm we have partially forgotten.
Tonight, there is something gentle to remember.
Peace does not always arrive through solving everything.
Sometimes, it arrives through fully inhabiting one quiet moment before it passes.
