During an Arctic expedition, a young explorer asked the expedition leader why he checked the compass so often, even on a familiar route.
The leader replied, “The landscape changes. Snow covers old tracks. The compass reminds me where true north is.”
Life offers a similar lesson.
Circumstances change.
Opinions change.
Success and failure come and go.
But our values remain the compass that keeps us on the right path.
When decisions become difficult, character is often the surest direction we can follow.
