The remote control disappeared again tonight,
We searched every corner, switched on every light.
Under the cushion, beneath the chair,
We looked in places that weren’t even there.
Someone said, “Nobody moved from this room.”
Someone else whispered, “Then it met its doom.”
We blamed the children, the dog and the cat,
Then found it beneath someone’s sleeping mat.
The television waited, perfectly still,
While the family argued with remarkable skill.
Finally, Dad found it and proudly declared—
“I knew it was here. I simply hadn’t looked there.”
We all laughed, though nobody knew
Why finding a remote felt like finding gold too.
