There are times when we want to see the entire road before taking the first step.
We want to know where it will lead, whether it will work, and what will happen along the way.
But life rarely gives us that kind of certainty.
Sometimes we simply have to begin.
A new job.
A new relationship.
A journey.
A book.
A decision we have been postponing for too long.
The first step may feel small, almost insignificant.
But without it, nothing changes.
Perhaps courage is not about knowing exactly what lies ahead.
Perhaps it is about trusting ourselves enough to take that first step—and then taking the next one when the time comes.
We do not always need to see the whole staircase.
Sometimes seeing the next step is enough.
