“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
— Aeso
There are people who notice.
They notice when someone has become unusually quiet.
They notice the tiredness behind a smile.
They notice that an old neighbour has not opened the door for a few days.
Most of the time, they do nothing dramatic.
They simply ask, “Are you all right?”
That question can mean more than we realise.
We live among people who are busy, connected and constantly communicating. Yet sometimes a person can go through an entire difficult day without anyone genuinely noticing.
Perhaps kindness begins there.
Not with grand gestures.
With noticing.
A friend who remembers.
A colleague who asks.
A neighbour who pauses.
A family member who listens without immediately offering an opinion.
We may never know which small act of ours stayed with someone.
But perhaps that is not the point.
The point is to notice while we still have the chance.
