A teacher once held up an ordinary pencil and asked the class what made it special.
The answers came quickly—its wood, its lead, its shape.
The teacher smiled and gently replied, “Its greatest value lies in the marks it leaves behind.”
People are much the same.
Our success is measured not by titles or possessions but by the positive difference we make in the lives of others.
Every thoughtful word, every act of kindness, every lesson shared leaves a mark that may outlive us.
Like a pencil, we may become shorter with time, but our true worth is found in what we leave behind.
