The Forgotten Melody

An elderly musician sat quietly on a park bench, humming a tune that few people recognised.
A child stopped and listened.
“Is that a new song?” the child asked.
The musician smiled.
“No,” he replied. “It is an old melody that people have forgotten.”
The child listened until the tune became familiar.
Sometimes, life’s greatest treasures are not new discoveries.
They are timeless values—gratitude, kindness, honesty, and compassion—that quietly fade beneath the noise of everyday life.
Like an old melody, they return to our hearts whenever someone chooses to keep them alive.
Perhaps the world needs fewer new songs and more people willing to remember the finest old ones.
