A visiting professor once arrived at the home of a respected Japanese scholar, eager to discuss philosophy.
As tea was poured, the professor continued speaking about his own knowledge and achievements.
The host quietly kept pouring until the cup overflowed.
Startled, the visitor exclaimed, “The cup is full!”
The scholar smiled gently and replied, “Just like this cup, a mind already full has little room for new ideas.”
True learning begins not with certainty, but with curiosity.
