“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”
— Albert Einstein
A busy executive once kept a small card on his desk with just two words: “Think first.”
Whenever a difficult decision arrived, he would stop for a moment before answering.
That pause did not make him slower.
It made him clearer.
We often imagine that progress comes from doing more, answering faster, and moving constantly.
Sometimes, however, the most useful thing we can do is simply pause long enough to see a situation properly.
A few quiet seconds can prevent a hurried decision.
And sometimes, that small pause can change the direction of an entire day.
